The Grand Canyon (by Clara and Will)
The Holloways live in the blue mountains, an area with trees, caves, hills and beautiful birds. One day we went on a bush walk at the Grand Canyon.
“Simon says: write about the Grand Canyon in six sentences or do an acrostic poem.”

By Will:
The Canyon & The River
Down, down, down below us a reverse mountain is being carved by the river, they say.
How to find the lower water?
Stair stepping our way into the ravine, we submerge wholly in the ever deeper landscape, pressing down above us.
Eucalypts cannot thrive in the under-shadow, lost to centenarian tree fern bursts, drip drop in moss caves, and then finally...
The river, innocent, delicate and light, playing in those accidental pools of sunlight that only succeed in the middle of her canyon.
Never mind us, the slender ribbon river and the deep-set canyon have found each other, Small + Time = Big

Great poem, Clara and beautiful text, Will!
