Onwards and Forthwards! (By Ben)

One day during our time cycling in France, we left the train station in a city called La Rochelle. Earlier that day, we had biked from Mayenne to Laval, which we then took a train from to Nantes, and then to La Rochelle from there. That night, we camped in the city.
The next morning, we had a nice French breakfast which included a hot chocolate (or coffee), orange juice, part of a baguette, a croissant and some nice apricot jam. After that, we went to the aquarium lots of cool, marine life.
Then, after a relaxed morning , we started biking. I don’t remember much of the biking itself, but most of the days went like this: bike a bit, eat some “Saucisson”/baguette, bike some more, go shopping for food, eat lunch, bike a bit more, maybe have a snack, bike a bit more still, and find a campsite.
In this case, the campsite was in a place called Taugon. At the campsite we met an old English couple who like birdwatching and come to this specific campsite a lot with their camper van. We had a few long conversations with them and they offered to charge our “business” (phones and things). We set up the tent, had chilli for dinner, and me and Clara started sword fighting with some unused front mudguards for our bikes. That was fun.
The next day, we cycled through the before hand elusive rain. Eventually arrived in a city called Nnnnnnnnnniort (as we like to say it)and we arrived at our destination.

Did your mum tell you that I used to live in Rochfort which is just a few kilometres from LA Rochelle and used to take the bus there? Perhaps I ate at that same Cafe by the water front!
ReplyDeleteWhat strong leg muscles you all must have with all that cycling.
I lived in Nantes from September 1999 to June 2000!
