Quebec- March 2016
Another old post I'm finally getting to...
I’m writing this on the road in New Brunswick heading home from a week away in Quebec city. It was about 10 hours driving each way—with dad’s help doing a huge chunk of it, many rounds of 20 questions, iphones, and ipad and a great podcast for the grownups (serial), the driving went much more smoothly than we thought it might. Here's the crew-- and the luggage!

Ben’s highlight of our trip was a pool with a curly slide at our stopping
point in Edmunston. He went down bravely and learned that he likes hot tub
after all. While in Quebec we stayed in the Best Western. Will and my highlight was the 2 mornings we spent skiing
at Mont Saint Ann. We could take a giant gondola up into the clouds and fly
down.
The
kids each got to choose one toy towards the end of our time in town. Clara chose a Paw Patrol Dog- whenever
she saw something new she’d say “only one toy” to herself and hold onto it
tighter. Ben chose a 3-ship Lego building set which he did a great job starting to
put together later in the evening in the hotel room. We had 3 lovely days in the actual city. The first was to
what we called “Elsa’s ice palace,” a hotel made entirely of ice and snow with
a truly fun ice slide. We also went to a beautiful aquarium.
It was fun to see how quickly the kids adapted to the road. Clara asked today which home we’re going to. A few nights ago, she asked for a croissant for dinner. She gradually learned to play hotel hide and seek and 20 questions (“it’s a jungle kittycat!”) Ben was interested in so many things, and it was nice to see him using a little French along the way.
