English countryside
We're home safely now and taking a look at some pictures of the rest of our UK travels. After Scotland, we headed south to visit Sally and Julian in Knaersborough. They have a beautiful new house in the countryside and we had a nice time going for walks and seeing York and other nearly towns. Ben also enjoyed their flatscreen TV! Sally and Julian are planning to visit us in Halifax in September, which made parting much easier.
We spent the rest of our trip with my dad, first in Hexham and then traveling on his river cruiser in the canals near Warwick and Stratford-Upon-Avon. The trip involved nearly 100 locks and we took a photo at every one. We stopped at almost every pub along the way too! My dad has traced our family tree back to this part of England, so we were also able to see places where Penns may have lived hundreds of years ago. It was a fantastic way to end our time in England.
After the boat, we had a busy day in London before heading to Ontario.
